Janini has nearly three decades of experience in intellectual property litigation and enforcement matters.

She is one of the foremost intellectual property practitioners in Malaysia with extensive experience in a variety of intellectual property matters at all levels of the Malaysian Courts. She has advised and acted in intellectual property disputes relating to trademarks, copyright, design, patents, passing-off (and related torts) and geographical indications as well as disputes relating to breach of confidence, distributorship/licensing agreements and domain name disputes.

She works closely with Dato’ Ambiga Sreenevasan and together they have argued complex intellectual property disputes and have represented clients in numerous landmark decisions in Malaysia. She is known for her in-depth knowledge of intellectual property law, innovative solutions and her ability to handle and resolve complex intellectual property issues.

Janini also heads the Firm’s enforcement unit and has extensive experience designing and implementing anti-counterfeiting and enforcement programs in a diverse range of industries. Her extensive experience has earned the trust of multinational and local corporations to protect the sanctity of their intellectual property. She has been ranked as an IP Star (Trademark) (Managing IP) and an IP Expert (Asia IP).

Janini has a growing practice in competition and clinical negligence matters. She appeared as junior counsel in the first competition matter argued before the Court of Appeal and has acted and advised on competition issues relating to market sharing and price fixing. Janini has also acted and advised on clinical negligence, healthcare and pharmaceutical matters.

Janini is a member of the US based, invitation only, peer reviewed, International Association of Defense Counsel [IADC].
